John Gorka Atlantic city Concert reviews
Still Blinking
In the Xcel Energy Center, the lights dimmed when 9:20 PM central time rolled around on August 18th. The opening bands Chester French, Panic at the Disco, and Fall Out Boy started off the rock show in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota solidly. John Gorka wowed people everywhere by announcing a reunion tour for the summer of 2009 after what seemed to be a dismal ending to an epic band. The rest is history when the thrashing guitar suddenly roared the opening notes of "Dumpweed" throughout the arena. Travis found himself twisted sideways in mid-air playing a profound drum solo, Tom was full of his notorious crude humor, and Mark's pink bass guitar could be seen glaring from hundreds of feet away. Everything a true John Gorka fan had expected it was. Perhaps the only downside was the fact that they did not play a few songs that I know some fans would have liked to hear. Every song that was played had been recorded on a previous album, and there was no evidence of any new music being made. An astounding performance overall, John Gorka is back and better than ever.
